"Specialist Rehabilitation for Disabling Pain Conditions"

For over 25 years, the Bath Centre for Pain Services (BCPS) has been a national referral centre for children and adults with disabling chronic pain.

Our story started as part of the historic, specialist Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases. Specialists in chronic conditions recognised the need for intensive residential pain rehabilitation.

This rapidly grew to incorporate a paediatric service and the first dedicated Young Adult service in the UK. We have since added intensive individual admissions for the most severely disabled, and a specialism in Paediatric CRPS.

In 2019 we moved to new, purpose-built facilities at the Royal United Hospitals Bath. We formed a group of national specialist pain services here, including the Complex Regional Pain Syndrome service and the Complex Cancer Late Effects Service.
