We will consider private referrals and GP\/Consultant referrals from all across the UK and Ireland.<\/p>\n\t<p><strong>This video explains our Adult Assessment care pathway. <\/strong><\/p>\n\t<iframe width=\"560\" height=\"315\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Qi-_JvTzVZE?si=Za23XtsweMxyJW-W\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\" data-load-mode=\"1\"><\/iframe>\n<h2>\n\t\tAdult and Paediatric Referrals \n\t<\/h2>\n<h2>\n\t\tAs we are funded by NHS England, all our patients must follow the pathways below:\n\t<\/h2>\n<h2>\n\t\tAdult Care Pathway\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<ul>\n<li>The patient <strong>must<\/strong> have been seen by their local Pain Clinic within the last 12 months.<\/li>\n<li>The local Pain Clinic or local medical team <strong>must<\/strong> support the referral.<\/li>\n<li>Please note that the treatment at the Pain Clinic meets the care pathway requirements; if a patient has instead had, for example, only Rheumatology or Orthopaedic care, this does not meet the NHS England criteria.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>\n\t\tChild and Adolescent Care Pathway\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<ul>\n<li>Children and young people <strong>must<\/strong> have been seen by a local pain clinic if available, <strong>or<\/strong> local hospital and\/or Community Paediatricians.<\/li>\n<li>Completed all appropriate local treatment options.\u00a0This may include CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health<br \/>\nServices) and Physiotherapy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We <strong>cannot<\/strong> accept referrals for patients who are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Due to have further medical investigations or medical\/surgical treatment.<\/li>\n<li>Suffering from mental health problems which require current treatment (e.g. active psychosis, suicidal intent).\u00a0We <strong>can<\/strong> treat people who have a stable mental health condition and\/or have suicidal ideation but low intent.<\/li>\n<li>Currently misusing alcohol or other substances.\u00a0Prescription medication will be reviewed as part of the assessment process.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please note: in order to accept a referral for your patient, we will need:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Copies of all clinical letters from all of the local services that have been involved in the patient\u2019s pain (such as Pain Consultants, Orthopaedic Surgeons, Rheumatologists, Adult\/Adolescent Mental Health etc.) within the last year.<\/li>\n<li>Copies of all clinical discharge letters from any previous admissions that the patient may have had.<br \/>\nAn up to date patient summary.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please address all referrals to Dr Jeremy Gauntlett-Gilbert, BCPS Service Lead.<\/p>\n<p>For further information please contact <a href=\"mailto:ruh-tr.RNHRDPMUenquiries@nhs.net\">ruh-tr.RNHRDPMUenquiries@nhs.net<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>\n\t\tGP Referral Procedure\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>As per NHS Digital\u2019s new instruction, all\u00a0GP\u00a0referrals\u00a0from within England received after 1st\u00a0October 2018 must be received via the ERS system.\u00a0Anything\u00a0received after this date on paper will be returned.\u00a0Non-contract referrals can still be emailed over to our administration team on <a href=\"mailto:ruh-tr.rnhrdpmuenquiries@nhs.net\">ruh-tr.RNHRDPMUenquiries@nhs.net.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>For more information on the e-Referral Service, please see <a href=\"https:\/\/digital.nhs.uk\/services\/e-referral-service\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you are a GP referring to us via the ERS, you will be able to find us under the Directory of Services. Please: <\/p>\n1. Search under the hospital postcode, BA1 3NG<br \/>\n2. Select Specialty as &#8220;Pain Management&#8221;<br \/>\n3. Select &#8220;Bath Centre for Pain Services &#8211; Intensive Chronic Pain Rehabilitation&#8221;<br \/>\n4. <strong>If you cannot see us,<\/strong> then please check that you have blanked out the box marked &#8220;Distance Within&#8221;; any further problems please do call us on 01225 82 11 81.<br \/>\n5. Please also send us the UBRN via email to <a href=\"mailto:ruh-tr.rnhrdpmuenquiries@nhs.net\">ruh-tr.RNHRDPMUenquiries@nhs.net.<\/a><br \/>\n6. Our service is also indirectly bookable. Please contact the admin team about this using the details above. \n<h2>\n\t\tPrivate referrals\u00a0\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<ul>\n<li>\u00a0We accept private referrals for adults. These need to be accompanied by detailed medical history documentation, as described above. All patients would receive our usual extensive Consultant and Rehabilitation assessment, and two detailed reports would follow. We will provide recommendations for treatment, either at our service or elsewhere.
