{"id":13,"date":"2015-12-09T12:51:37","date_gmt":"2015-12-09T12:51:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bathcentreforpainservices.nhs.uk\/?page_id=13"},"modified":"2026-03-10T14:18:38","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T14:18:38","slug":"research","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/bathcentreforpainservices.org.uk\/?page_id=13","title":{"rendered":"Research"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>\n\t\tResearch and Innovation\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>We are a national specialist NHS unit with a long history of producing clinically relevant research.<\/p>\n<p>Treating chronic pain is difficult and there is always a need for new ideas to produce better clinical outcomes, both for adults and for adolescents. We aim to help understand how chronic pain causes so much distress and disability and then to understand the mechanisms behind effective treatment. We also research how to extend our expertise to other conditions such as diabetic pain.<\/p>\n<p>Research is built in to every part of our activity, and all adults, adolescents and parents attending our service will all have the opportunity to contribute to our research efforts.
