For those who want to find out more about the service, referral criteria, and meet specialist colleagues, we run group Information Days. For others who would like a more in-depth visit that includes clinical observation, see &#8216;extended visits&#8217; below. <\/p>\n<h4>\n\t\tInformation Days\n\t<\/h4>\n\t<p>The core of our visitors\u2019 scheme is the day visit. This provides a maximum of 4 people the opportunity to meet with members of our inter-disciplinary team and take place on pre-arranged dates throughout the year. These days are designed for clinicians wishing to understand appropriate\u00a0care pathways for individuals with chronic pain or who may be referring to our unit. We also welcome Commissioners who would like to know more about the\u00a0services, interventions and outcomes in order to make evidence based commissioning decisions.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of our Information Days is:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To give an overview of the programmes and packages of care provided by BCPS.<\/li>\n<li>To briefly describe our treatment approach and how it differs from CBT and out patient pain management programmes.<\/li>\n<li>To provide a summary of the evidence to date.<\/li>\n<li>To provide an opportunity to discuss appropriate referrals to the unit.<\/li>\n<li>To clarify the role of BCPS within local and national care pathways.<\/li>\n<li>To discuss the role of a specialist, tertiary service within the current healthcare system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please note: this will not include the observation of clinical work.<\/p>\n<h2>\n\t<\/h2>\n<h4>\n\t\tExtended Visits\n\t<\/h4>\n\t<p>Extended visits can be arranged. These visits may include an opportunity to observe clinical work (subject to patient consent).\u00a0 Our ability to offer this type of visit is very limited, and are considered on an individual basis. It is important to contact the education team well in advance of any proposed dates.<\/p>\n<h4>\n\t\tApplying for Visits\n\t<\/h4>\n\t<p>Applications for visits can be made by completing this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bathcentreforpainservices.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Visitor-Application-Form-2020.docx\">form<\/a>.
